  • Stephen Grant, bass, was born in Montreal, Canada. He began his professional career in Germany, where he worked with some of Europes's best-known early music ensembles - among them Sequentia, the Ferrara Ensemble, Ensemble Organum, the Huelgas Ensemble, performing widely and making over 30 CD recordings. Stephen is the director of the Melbourne-based vocal ensempble e21, and is Head of Voice and the Early Music Studio at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, the University of Melbourne. He is currently researching vocal performance practice in the music of 17th century German composer Heinrich Schuetz.
