Positions

  • Molecular neurobiolgy of ion channels and receptors in pain-sensing nerves and how they change in chronic pain
  • Neurobiology of pain
  • Regulation of thermo-sensitive TRP ion channels in the pain pathway (ion channel, chronic pain, molecular pharmacology)

Overview

OverviewText1

  • Prof. McIntyre completed his BSc and PhD in the Department of Biochemistry at LaTrobe university before postdoctoral fellowships at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute and The Imperial Cancer Research Fund (now Cancer Research UK) Institute in London. He re-entered academic research in Oct 2005 after 16 years in the pharmaceutical industry working on drug discovery for chronic pain therapies with Novartis.
