  • Richard James is Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic) and Director of the Melbourne Centre for the Study of Higher Education. He holds a chair in higher education. His research interests include access and participation, the quality of the student experience, quality assurance and standards, and post-compulsory education choices. He has authored numerous research reports of national significance in Australian higher education. His has a number of key national advisory roles, including membership of the Higher Education Standards Panel and the Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching Advisory Group.
