  • Dr Ajibade Aibinu is Senior Lecturer in quantity surveying and construction economics in the faculty. He is the immediate past Assistant Dean (Research Training). His primary research is focused on efficiency factors in the production and operation of built assets to ensure value for money outcomes. His research employs qualitative and quantitative methods with data mining and statistical modelling of construction data, as well as advanced modelling and analytical techniques such as structural equation modelling and Artificial Intelligence prediction algorithm (in particular, neural networks). He has published numerous research papers in reputable international journals in construction engineering and management and international conferences. A paper he co-authored, and originally published in the Built Environment Project and Asset Management Journal, won the Outstanding Paper in the 2017 Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence. He won the Best Reviewer Award and Prize for ‘International Conference on Modeling and Building Health and Safety’ in Singapore in 2012. In 2012, he also won the Melbourne School of Design Teaching Excellence Award. He has worked as an external reviewer for a number of built environment degrees in Australia and Malaysia. Ajibade has also been involved in monitoring multi-million dollars World Bank assisted institutional projects in Africa. He holds a PhD degree in Building (major in construction project management) from the National University of Singapore. He teaches in the area of cost management and control, contract management, as well as project cost planning and estimating. He was an associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (ACIArb) as well as a member of the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (MAIQS).
