  • Peter is a Visiting Associate Professor in the field of Global Corporate Governance at the University of Melbourne (Australia), and an Adjunct Professor for Strategy, Ethics and Governance and Risk Management in Emerging Markets at the Melbourne Business School (MBS/ UniMelb). He is also a Visiting Professor for Strategy and Business in the emerging markets at the University of Antwerp. Between 2010 and 2013 he was a Research Fellow at the Ash Institute for Governance and Asian Studies at the Harvard Kennedy School (Cambridge MA-USA).

    Currently, he is collaborating with the International Finance Corporation (IFC-World Bank) as a Senior Consultant for Corporate Governance in the Asia Pacific region. In addition, Peter is also the Managing Director of Verhezen & Associates (in association/collaboration with Booz & Co Indonesia and Amrop Indonesia), a management and board consultancy firm that specializes in Board Consulting, Global Corporate Governance, and Integrated Risk Management for the Asian Emerging Markets. He is also an international facilitator for Global Corporate Governance and Business Ethics at the Australian Institute for Corporate Directors.

    He has been the Managing Partner of Cimad Pacific and C-Consulting, an ICT consultancy spin off from IBM, which he founded and ran for about 15 years (within the ASEAN-Australia region), after which he sold it to Booz. During the Asian crisis in 1997, he was Senior Financial Advisor for IBRA (Ministry of Finance of Indonesia) for whom he and his team restructured more than USD 1.7 billion in corporate debt.

    He received his MA in International Relations & Applied Economics from the University of Antwerp (Belgium), his MBA Finance from Vlerick Leuven Business School in association with Chicago Booth School of Business. He also pursued his studies in Philosophy at the University of Leuven (Belgium) where he obtained his MA and PhD.
