Susan Hurley offers a consulting service in the areas of health economics, pharmacoepidemiology and public health policy. She is also experienced at summarising medical and scientific information for lay audiences. Susan holds masters degrees in pharmacy and science (biostatistics), as well as a PhD in health economics and epidemiology. During eleven years as a medical researcher she designed and completed projects that included a clinical trial, case-control studies, health care costing studies, cost-effectiveness analyses, ecological studies to assess the effectiveness of public health interventions and systematic literature reviews. She has also worked in pharmaceutical industry roles including pharmacoeconomics manager, business development manager and marketing director. Susan has published more than fifty papers in high profile journals like the Lancet and her projects have influenced health policy, particularly in the areas of mammographic screening, HIV/AIDS, pharmacoepidemiology and tobacco control.
