Wireless Sensor Networks for the Built Environment (Infrastructure Monitoring, Precision Agriculture, Environmental Monitoring)
Dr TK Chan is Senior Lecturer for Construction Management and Technology at the Faculty of Architecture Building and Planning, University of Melbourne. His research interests are in the areas of construction economics and technology, and he has published extensively in major engineering and construction journals, and conference proceedings. He has received substantial funding from various agencies to support his research in the areas of construction, transportation, wireless sensors, and environmental management. Dr Chan has also spent many years in the petrochemical and construction industries in Singapore and Malaysia, including consulting for major construction and multi-national companies. He has taught at the then School of Civil and Structural Engineering at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and the Malaysia University of Science and Technology in Malaysia. Dr. Chan obtained his Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) degree from the University of Malaya and a PhD in Engineering from the University of Cambridge.
