  • .Career Overview A graduate of the original Swinburne Film School, Helen has combined free-lance drama, documentary and factual/ corporate/ writing/ direction and production, with teaching at the tertiary level for many years. Institutions include the School of Film & TV, Faculty of VCA & MCM, University of Melbourne, The SAE Creative Media Institute, The Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS), School of Media & Communications, RMIT University, Holmesglen TAFE, Open Channel and The International School of Cinema and TV (EICTV) - Cuba. She has completed a Masters by Research in documentary at School of Film & TV, Faculty of VCA & MCM, University if Melbourne and is two thirds of her way through a Practice based PhD with the School of Media and Communications, RMIT University. Helen Gaynor has been directing, shooting, writing, and producing drama, documentary and factual content for Australia’s leading broadcasters (ABC TV, SBS TV, Seven, Nine and Ten Networks, and some educational and corporate clients), for 25 years. She enjoys an award winning a career as a freelance documentary/factual and drama director and producer. She has been commissioned to produce and direct documentaries for many of Australia’s leading production houses including, Beyond International, December Films, 360 Degree Films, Wild Fury, Roar Productions and Renegade Films, and broadcasters including ABC TV, Seven Factual and SBS TV.
