  • After gaining a Licentiate from the London College of Music, Tracy attained a BMus(Hons) and a Postgraduate Degree in Education at the University of Edinburgh. In her BMus Tracy had the opportunity to study composition, harmony and Music in the Community under Professor Nigel Osborne and was the first student at the University to complete an honours recital on the Eb Tenor Horn. She has also completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Jazz Education. Tracy has performed on Eb Tenor Horn and piano as a soloist and accompanist throughout the UK, Europe and the USA. She has experience as a conductor of brass bands and musical theatre productions and has also performed as a Jazz practitioner. Tracy has been a music educator for over twenty years and has taught both instrumental and curriculum music to all year levels in a wide variety of educational environments. During this time she devised and published teaching resources for the Scottish curriculum, played an active role in music engagement projects with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Royal Scottish National Orchestra and was a tutor for gifted students at the City of Edinburgh Music School. In a range of roles, including co ordination for Curriculum Music and Instrumental Music and latterly as a Head of Performing Arts in a large Independent College, Tracy has always been passionate and committed about cultivating and maintaining the highest possible standards in the delivery of music education. This commitment has underpinned her role as a trained mentor to pre-service and newly qualified teachers for the past 15 years and has led her to be Lecturer of Music (Performance Teaching) within the Master of Music (Performance Teaching) course. In this role, Tracy coordinates all of the Professional Practice Subjects and the Suzuki Education elective within the course, which includes working extensively with music educators and developing educational partnerships with over 60 schools and music education organisations acro
