  • Dr Simon Milton is an honorary Associate Professor of Information Systems (Principal Fellow) in the Department of Computing and Information Systems at The University of Melbourne.

    Dr Milton received his PhD from the Department of Information Systems at the University of Tasmania in which he reported the first comprehensive analysis of data modelling languages using a common-sense realistic ontology. 

    Research interests
    - ontological foundations of data modeling languages
    - implications of top-level ontological commitments in information systems modelling
    - the value and use of ontologies to business and biomedicine
