I am currently a PhD candidate at the Melbourne Graduate School of Education. My research interest is in the intersection of contemplative practices (meditation, mindfulness, etc) and education. Specifically, my PhD research explores the implications of contemplative practices for teacher professional becoming. My work is grounded in philosophical (Heidegger) and applied phenomenology (van Manen), and theories of social practice (Schatzki). I also hold a number of teaching roles within the MGSE Master of Teaching (Secondary). I have taught for eight years in secondary education, teaching VCE Philosophy, VCE Extended Investigation and integrated humanities courses, focusing on experiential and inquiry learning.
