Dr William Ho is a senior lecturer in the Department of Management and Marketing at the University of Melbourne, Australia. Before joining the University in August 2013, he was a senior lecturer in the Operations & Information Management Group at the Aston University Business School, UK, from 2005 to 2013.
Dr Ho obtained his BEng degree with the First Class Honours in Manufacturing Engineering and PhD in Operations Research from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2000 and 2004, respectively. In 2009, he obtained the Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education from the Aston University. He had also been invited as a visiting lecturer at the Rouen Business School in France, the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration in Austria, and the University of Regensburg in Germany. In 2010, Dr Ho obtained the Aston Excellence Award – Outstanding Teacher of the Year (Staff Nominated). In 2016, he received the Melbourne Excellence Award – Edward Brown Award for Teaching Excellence.
Dr Ho's current research interests include strategic sourcing and supplier performance management, supply chain risk management, and sustainable supply chain management. He has published over 50 articles in international peer-reviewed journals, such as Computers and Operations Research, Decision Sciences, European Journal of Operational Research, International Journal of Production Economics, International Journal of Production Research, Journal of the Operational Research Society, Supply Chain Management: An International Journal, and so on. Besides journal articles, he published two authored books "Optimal Production Planning for PCB Assembly" and "Applied Operational Research with SAS" in 2006 and 2011, respectively. He is also an editorial board member of an international leading journal, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management.
