  • Steve Holt trained in medicine at The Middlesex Hospital and University College Hospitals, University of London,UK. He undertook much of his renal apprenticeship at The Royal Free Hospital. During this time he was awarded a Medical Research Council training fellowship, completing a PhD in oxidant injury in renal pathologies. From 2001 to 2010 he held posts of Consultant Nephrologist at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals Hon. Senior Lecturer at Brighton and Sussex Medical School Clinical Director of Research at the Clinical Investigation and Research Unit He moved to Australia in 2010 to become; Consultant Nephrologist at Eastern Health Professor of Medicine, Monash University In 2013 he was appointed Director of Nephrology at The Royal Melbourne Hospital Professor of Medicine at Melbourne University. His major research interests include The links between inflammation and mineral trafficking and cardiovascular pathology in renal disease Home dialysis therapies HIV related renal disease. He is co-author on a number of international guidelines and has numerous publications.
