Singing and Voice Training in Music Theatre, Music Theatre Performance,
Chris Nolan is a singing and voice teacher, specialising in musical theatre and other CCM styles. He has worked extensively across the UK, Europe, and Australia as a voice teacher and coach. In the past few years, his students have been seen in every major musical touring Australia, and many in London's West End. Prior to his appointment at the VCA he was Head of Singing & Music at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, London from 2012-2015. He has held teaching positions in spoken voice and singing at GSA, Surrey University and Millennium Dance London, and has taught singing at the Royal Academy of Music (Vocal Workout), Royal Scottish Conservatoire (Summer Program), Acteerstudio (Den Haag), and BK Studio (Slovenia). He holds a masters degree in voice and singing pedagogy from the Guildford School of Acting, and is currently researching a PhD at the University of Melbourne. Industry credits include: 'The Word is God' (Voice Coach, Shakespeare's Globe), 'Search for a Superstar' (Casting Associate, ITV/Andrew Lloyd Weber), 'The Dare' (Accompanist, RDF Television), A...My Name is Alice (Musical Director, Young Vic), City of Angels (Musical Director, BGAC), Cinderella (Musical Director, Hertford Theatre). Chris has also worked extensively as an audition and rehearsal pianist, and pit keys player. He has accompanied recitals at the Palau de la Música Catalana (Spain), the Palace of Culture (Poland) and Cadogan Hall (UK).
