  • Proteomics and Lipidomics

  • Shuai Nie is a Research Fellow in the Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics Facility (MSPF) of Bio21 Molecular Science & Biotechnology Institute at The University of Melbourne. From 2007 he was an undergraduate student at Xiamen University and obtained his Bachelor degree in Chemistry in 2011. From 2011-2014, he studied and worked as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Department of Chemistry at MSU under the supervision of Prof. Gavin E. Reid. From 2014 to 2015, due to the relocation of Prof. Reid, he worked as a Visiting Graduate Research Assistant in the School of Chemistry at the University of Melbourne. After obtaining his PhD degree in Analytical Chemistry from MSU in 2015, he has worked as a Research Fellow in the MSPF at Bio21.

His research experiences include (1) the development of targeted and non-targeted LC-MS/MS workflows for characterization of drug action mechanisms and quantification of disease biomarkers and (2) the development of novel gas phase and solution phase chemistry for improved mass spectrometry based lipid and lipidome analysis.
