Parasitology (Helminths, Signalling, Drug Discovery)
Postdoctoral researcher with a BSc and MSc in Bioinformatics and a PhD in Parasite Genomics (focus on kinomes and drug discovery). Now working on new bioinformatic technologies for gene curation, protein annotation, essentiality and drug target predictions to gain a better understanding of parasite biology and devise new strategies for the control of helminth infections. Presented at >15 national and international conferences and symposia, including an invited keynote presentation at the annual conference of the Australian Society for Parasitology, St. Kilda, Australia, 2018. Has organised and led a range of workshops on bioinformatics and parasitology topics in Australia and overseas. Experience as demonstrator/tutor for MSc Bioinformatics subject “Bioinformatics Case Studies” (BINF90004) and Parasitology (Infections, Population and Public Health/Doctor of Veterinary Medicine).
