Alaina Lee is a Laboratory Manager within the Centre for Muscle Research, (Physiology) at the University of Melbourne. After completing a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry at the University of Aberdeen (2001), Alaina worked within the Protein Science team at UCB Celltech in the UK (2003). In 2004 Alaina commenced work as a Research Assistant within the Metabolic and Vascular Physiology group at the Baker Heart Research Institute, progressing to Laboratory Manager in 2006. In this role, Alaina oversaw the basic science research group while also contributing to rodent experiments and human clinical studies. Her work also contributed to 13 peer reviewed publications. In 2016 Alaina was accepted into a business graduate position at Coles, where she managed supply and operations for several national categories. In 2018, Alaina commenced her current position, and in this capacity, she plans to combine her scientific and business training to help establish and manage the daily operations of the Centre For Muscle Research, while also contributing to scientific research.
