  • Jordy Meekes is a Research Fellow (Assistant Professor) in the Melbourne Institute of Applied Economic and Social Research at the University of Melbourne since September 2018. He joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in July 2018. He is part of the Labour Economics and Social Policy Program. Prior to joining the Melbourne Institute, Jordy did his PhD in Economics and his Research Master’s in Multidisciplinary Economics at Utrecht University (The Netherlands). His PhD is in applied microeconomics at the intersection of labour economics with urban, regional and housing economics. He has used administrative data sets and applied micro econometric models to answer research questions related to workers’ labour market outcomes and housing market outcomes across regional areas. During his PhD, Jordy was a Short-Stay Visiting Fellow at MIT Sloan School of Management (US) and he did a research project in collaboration with the temporary work and human resource consulting services company Randstad Holding.
