Our Research
The REPAIR (Recovery, Enrichment and Plasticity to promote ActivIty after stRoke) Research Group is committed to advancing the understanding of the brain-behaviour nexus after stroke to inform best clinical care. We aim to maximise recovery after stroke by integrating preclinical and clinical evidence-based models of stroke recovery and neuroscience to develop and test interventions that promote best recovery and clinical care. To achieve this, our we apply innovative adaptive and early phase clinical trial designs to study when is the ideal time to start therapy after stroke and how much therapy should be provided. We also seeks to elucidate who stands to benefit most from therapy. The REPAIR Research Group is a team of clinically trained postdocs, graduate researchers (PhD and MPhil) and research assistants. Current PhD students: - Matt Wingfield (PT) - Sarah Newton (OT) - Cristina Levy (PT) - Jane Beecher (PT)
