Our Research

The University has a long tradition of excellence in Computer Science, dating back to the arrival of the first computer in Melbourne in 1956. The Computer Science research group specialises in both theoretical and applied computer science and pursues research in both established and emerging fields. These include Software Engineering, Security and Privacy, Quantum Computing, Programming Languages and Formal Verification, Distributed Systems and Cloud Computing, Databases and Information Retrieval, and Algorithms.
