Professor Fiona Newall is a clinical and research professional, and a leader in the promotion of research and evidence-based practice in nursing. As Director, Nursing Research at the Royal Children’s Hospital, she supports the nursing workforce to engage in evidence-based practice, promotes involvement in research activities to improve patient care and actively contributes to the organisation-wide approach to supporting and promoting inter-disciplinary clinical research.

Professor Newall holds honorary appointments with The University of Melbourne and the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute, and also works as an Anticoagulation Nurse Consultant at RCH. Her ongoing clinical appointment provides a strong foundation upon which Professor Newall can promote the positive integration of clinical practice and research on the RCH campus.
