Dr Marlene Tham is a General Practitioner and a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP). Marlene is a weight management and metabolic doctor specialising in treating obesity, weight management, metabolic syndrome and mental health at Melbourne Weight Loss based at Epworth Camberwell (http://www.melbourneweightloss.com/ .

Dr Tham has been just nominated as the RACGP Victorian Obesity Management Network representative. She has newly launched Medical & Mind Weight Loss, 10 module, 41 lesson online weight loss program based on evidence medical research. Dr Tham’s academic work has been in the area of obesity and mental health. One of her main interests has been investigating the impact of psychotropics on weight gain at the Mental Health Research Institute with Professor David Castle which was published in the International Journal of Mental Health and examining the role of the General Practitioner in weight management (published BMC Family Practice) at the University of Melbourne with Professor Doris Young. She has presented at both International and domestic conferences including being awarded “Best Presenter” at the General Practice and Primary Health Medical & Mind Weight Loss:
