Dr. Ellie Hyun-Jung Cho is the Platform Application Specialist of the Biological Optical Microscopy Platform at the University of Melbourne. The platform brings together the high-end optical microscopes across 6 departments within the Faculty of Medicine, Health & Dentistry and the Faculty of Science (see www.microscopy.unimelb.edu.au).
She completed her PhD in Anatomy and Neuroscience at The University of Melbourne in 2009 and continued postdoctoral research at the same university before joining the platform. Her research focused on the ion channels in sensory/pain pathway and digestive physiology. She is experienced in immunohistochemistry and fluorescence imaging of tissue sections as well as the electrophysiological recording of neuronal activity.
