Dalma Novak received the Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) (with First Class Honors) and PhD degrees from the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Qld., Australia, in 1987 and 1992, respectively.

She is a Vice President with Pharad LLC, Glen Burnie, MD, developers of advanced antenna and high-performance RF-over-fiber technologies.



From 1992 to 2004, she was a faculty member with the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), The University of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. From 2004 to 2009, she was a Professorial Fellow with the Department of EEE, University of Melbourne. From January to June 2004, she was Professor and Chair of Telecommunications with the Department of EEE, The University of Melbourne.

From July 2000 to January 2001, she was a Visiting Researcher with the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), and with the Naval Research Laboratory, Washington, DC. From June 2001 to December 2003, she was a Technical Section Lead with Dorsál Networks Inc. and then with the Corvis Corporation, where she led cross-disciplinary research and development teams in the development of wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) hardware for long-haul transmission systems.
