Mark Hew

 

Mark Hew is a Clinician Researcher at the Alfred and Royal Melbourne Hospitals with research and supervision links to the University of Melbourne. He currently heads the Allergy, Asthma and Clinical Immunology Service at the Alfred.
Mark trained in Medicine at The University of Melbourne.

He proceeded to specialist respiratory training at the Royal Melbourne and Alfred Hospitals. He then undertook asthma & allergy research at the Royal Brompton Hospital and obtained his PhD from the National Heart & Lung Institute, both in London. More recently, he completed an MSc in Evidence Based Health Care at the University of Oxford.
His main research is in the areas of Asthma & Allergy, Endobronchial & Thoracic Ultrasound, Pleural Interventions, and Evidence-Based Medicine. He currently supervises a Clinical PhD student at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in thoracic ultrasound.
