Dr. Chris Wenn is a researcher and sound designer for theatre and contemporary performance. His research explores the phenomenological implications of sound in performance, and the relationship between sound designer and audience.Chris Wenn’s sound design and compositions have featured in 'Oedipus - a poetic requiem' and 'Antigone: The Descent Across the Bridge of Acheron' (Liminal Theatre and Performance); Triangle (MKA); Ulrike Meinhof Sings, The Drowning Girls, and I Am The Wind (Turtle Lab); The Noahs and For the Love of Pina (rollercoaster); Day One.

A Hotel, Evening., The Motherf***er With The Hat, 4000 Miles, About Tommy, Herding Cats, ROAM, NSFW, Belleville, Middletown, and You Got Older (Red Stitch). His recent work includes: Triumph (The New Working Group); Yes No Maybe (Sarah Austin and collaborators); Approximate Translation (Malthouse), curated by Felix Ching Ching Ho; Ode to Man (Emma Mary Hall/Blue Room); and Colder (Red Stitch).Internationally, Chris has presented his work in Germany, the UK, the USA, and Australia; and created the sound for In The Silence of Your Heart (Esplanade, Singapore).Chris's sound designs for The Trouble With Harry (MKA/Darebin Arts Speakeasy/Melbourne Festival) and Rust and Bone (Daniel Clarke) were nominated for Green Room Awards. Only A Year (Sarah Austin and collaborators), a work for children up to 1 year old, received a Fringe Award in 2017.Chris performs live with iconic Melbourne noise-punk band, Primitive Calculators.
