Dr Jeanette Tamplin PhD, M.Mus, B.Mus (Hons), RMT, is a Senior Lecturer at The University of Melbourne and works as a music therapist at the Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre - Austin Health and Epworth Hospital. Jeanette is a registered music therapist and researcher specialising in neurorehabilitation for people neurological injuries or conditions (incluing traumatic brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, Parkinson's, and dementia).

She is a previous NHRMC-ARC Dementia Research Development Fellow (2016-2019). Jeanette has 20 years clinical experience working as a music therapist in neurorehabilitation and her research in this area focuses on the therapeutic effects of singing, speech and language rehabilitation, therapeutic songwriting, and coping and adjustment following traumatic injury or illness. In addition to conducting research, she supervises PhD students, and serves on the MCM Ethics committee and on the Australian Music Therapy Association Board as National Treasurer. Jeanette presents her work regularly at national and international conferences and publishes in international and interdisciplinary refereed journals. She has been invited to contribute chapters to several edited books on music therapy and has also co-authored a book on ‘Music Therapy Methods in Neurorehabilitation: A Clinician’s Manual’ (Jessica Kingsley Publishers) and co-edited a book on "Music & Dementia: From Cognition to Therapy (Oxford University Press).
