Helen Shoemark PhD RMT Helen Shoemark is is currently Associate Professor of Music Therapy at Temple University, Philadelphia USA. She is a Senior Fellow with both the Department of Paediatrics and the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, University of Melbourne.

She is team member (hon) of the Clinical Neurosciences theme at the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute. Her research is focused on collaborative reasoning in creative arts therapies teams in hospital settings, and the auditory experience and specifically maternal voice to support infant development. Helen was the founder of the Music and the Neuro-Developmentally At-Risk Infant group (MANDARI), an international group of neuroscientists, music therapists, medical professionals, public health experts and parents collaborating to build effective music programs for medically complex newborn infants. Helen is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Music Therapy, and on the US-based Steering Committee for Music Therapy Faculty Forum.
