I am a research fellow at the Centre for Eye Research Australia with an interest in retinal and optic nerve diseases, including inherited retinal disease (such as retinitis pigmentosa), age-related macular degeneration and glaucoma. I have specific expertise in multi-modal imaging of the retina and electroretinography to assess retinal structure and function in disease and with treatment strategies.

I have trained in research laboratories at the University of Melbourne, the National Vision Research Institute at the Australian College of Optometry, the Save Sight Institute at the University of Sydney, Devers Eye Institute at Legacy Health (OR, USA), and the Centre for Eye Research Australia at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. I work in multi-disciplinary teams including as part of the Australian bionic eye project and have been involved in both preclinical and translation research including clinical trials. I maintain an appointment as a clinical teacher of optometry students at the Australian College of Optometry an have been appointed to the Optometry Board of Australia, the regulatory board of the optometry profession in Australia.
