Primary lecturer and coordinator in Master's level subjects on "Earthquake-resistant Design of Buildings" and "Concrete Design and Technology", and previously in undergraduate subjects on "Concrete Theory and Design" and "Mechanics of Solids"
Worked together with industry consultants to devise workshops that they conducted in my subjects, something that provided excellent practical value for my students

International Reviewer for ARC Discovery Grants Reviewer for many A and A* international structural engineering journals Member, Australian Society of Earthquake Engineering (AEES) and of IPENZ Member of the national committee of the AEES Member of the earthquake subcommittee for BD-002 (2016-2017)

Awarded ARC Discovery Grant for 3 years commencing in Jan. 2006 together with two other CIs from the University of Melbourne, Professor Frank Sear from Archaeology and Andrew Hutson from Architecture.
Title: “Technological Advances in Large-scale Roman Concrete Buildings during the Second and First Centuries BC.

Awarded ARC Linkage Grant for 3 years commencing in August 2006 together with two other CIs, Emad Gad from Swinburne University, and Brian Uy from the University of Wollongong, and one PI, Saman Fernando from Ajax Fasteners with two industry partners: Australian Tube Mills and Acme Holdings (Ajax Engineered Fasteners).
Title: “Development of economical beam-column connections for robust composite steel-concrete structural frames.
Total amount: $450,000 plus matching funding from the Industry Partners.
