Adrian is a graduate of the VCA School of Film and Television, where his final year film was awarded the school’s top honour of Best Graduating Production and went on to screen at numerous local and international film festivals. Shortly thereafter he began directing television drama at the ABC as a trainee on Sea Change and then as a director on the ABC series Something in the Air.

Since then he has directed well over a hundred episodes of television drama, on series such as The Secret Life of Us and Last Man Standing, and has been the commissioning director on the BBC/Ten seriesOcean Star and Fergus McPhail. In 2006 he spent months touring remote Aboriginal communities in the Kimberly and Pilbara regions of WA as a film tutor running film-making workshops for the Film & Television Institute’s Making Movies Roadshow. Whilst in Western Australia he also mentored two local indigenous directors through short films and script edited a number of locally funded short films. In 2008 he returned to Melbourne and continued directing television drama until the end of 2010, as well as returning briefly to WA to work with the FTI's Indigenous Community Stories program filming and archiving stories of cultural significance in the Gibson Desert region. He has also directed a number of music videos, an SBS Independent funded documentary, numerous television commercials, and is a current Masters year lecturer at the VCA School of Film and TV.
