I did my Bachelor degree in Madrid, where I studied Environmental Sciences. Later I got a scholarship to conduct a two year master in Environmental Management in Greece.

During the second year of the master I participated in a European project on the conservation of Mediterranean Temporary Ponds and in that context I wrote my master thesis " Characteristics of the soil seed bank in Mediterranean temporary ponds and its role in ecosystem dynamics". After I finished my Masters, I was granted a scholarship by the Spanish Government to do a PhD at the Institute of Natural Resources and Agrobiology of Seville. In November 2010 I obtained my PhD in Ecology with a thesis entitled "Plant-soil interactions in a Mediterranean forest" In January 2011 I came to Australia and I was hosted as a Visiting fellow at the Department of Forest and Ecosystem Science (U. of Melbourne) for few months. From September 2011 to August 2012 I have been working as a postdoctoral research fellow for the University of Sydney (Faculty of Agriculture and Environment ) and the University of Melbourne (DFES-MSLE). Recently I've been granted a Spanish Postdoctoral Fellowship to continue working on forest ecology at the University of Melbourne.
