Amanda Morgan is a multi-disciplinary Australian contemporary artist, researcher, and swimmer. She holds a Master of Fine Art by Research from the Victorian College of the Arts and a GradDipEd from the University of Melbourne. Morgan is a PhD candidate and the Coordinator of Graphic Design VCA at the University of Melbourne.

Morgan's art practice is known for surfing into alert assemblages that critically address the ongoing impact of climate change and mutation, notable for the bleaching of sea-life via petrochemical industries and fossil fuels. Her site-specific projected narrative films dive into material issues with a sea-focused practice, and her bold film camouflage alerts to climate and material issues of the concrete environment and its runoff into the sea. The motif of the sea signals a significant departure in Morgan's long-term Sea Change PhD project of new assemblages colliding experimentations of swimming with the moving image and poiesis-dystopian text and sonic compositions painting, photography and installation alongside her research of climate. From 2000 Morgan held lectureships at Australian universities in numerous art and design capacities. She was the Coordinator of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Arts in the Faculty of Further Education NMIT, invited Culture Centre Manager at Warlayirti Artists Corporation Western Australia, where she co-produced films on Country, Kutjungka Cultural Documentation Project. She refined her site-specific narratives and maintained culture with projected and photographic stories bridging language groups with community elders. She fostered published and awarded youth and elder projects within Victorian and Western Australia's indigenous communities, including the Moran Contemporary Photographic Prize. Morgan intentionally alerts us to alternatives for visual language and neurodiversity in provocative and sonically projected films in the outdoors. Such works critically address the need to take on climate and materials. Originally trained as a painter with a BFA Honours at RMIT, her side-by-side approach to diversifying visual culture and spoken language co-exists with a career from 1988 and extensive contributions to Melbourne's art and design communities.
