Dr. Hans Gray did his first degree in the field of Mechanical Engineering at the University Of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. Having worked in a manufacturing industry as an engineer and then as a member of staff at the University Of Moratuwa he joined the University Of Oxford, UK as a Doctoral student.

His doctoral research involved using finite element analysis to investigate in vivo tissue remodelling that takes place in bone adjoining knee replacements subsequent to artificial knee replacement surgery.

He obtained his Doctorate in October, 2007 and then worked as a Lecturer at the University Of Moratuwa up to May, 2012.
Hans joined the University Of Melbourne as a Post Doctoral Researcher in the Department of Mechanical Engineering in July 2012 and is involved in research in the field of Musculoskeletal Biomechanics.
