Christopher Baker is a research fellow in the School of Mathematics and Statistics at The University of Melbourne, where he has been since March 2020. Dr. Baker works in the Centre for Data Science and the Centre of Excellence for Biosecurity Risk Analysis, which is based in the School of BioSciences.


Dr. Baker received his PhD from The University of Melbourne in 2017. Prior to re-joining The University of Melbourne in 2020, he worked in The School of Biology at The Pennsylvania State University, The School of Biological Sciences at The University of Queensland and The School of Mathematical Sciences at Queensland University of Technology. His research interests primarily involve developing and using mathematics and statistics to improve decision-making in complex biological problems.
