I am a registered and practicing Specialist in Small Animal Veterinary Medicine with particular interest in endocrinology, urology, and molecular investigation of infectious diseases in dogs and cat. My pathway of qualification includes graduation as veterinarian (Tierarzt) by state examination (Staatsexamen) from the University of Leipzig, Germany, in 2001, a PhD in Veterinary Clinical Sciences from Massey University, New Zealand in 2007 and a Diploma in Companion Animal internal medicine (DECVIM-CA), after training in Dublin, Ireland in 2010.

Throughout my career I have practiced in veterinary clinics in New Zealand, Ireland, Sweden and now Australia, meeting many clients and helping their pets. My clinical service motivates my teaching and research practices. My research projects are demand-driven and aim to understand pathophysiology and epidemiology of diseases, improve diagnostics and optimize management options.
