Kim Dalziel joined the School of Population and Global Health at the University of Melbourne in January 2013. She is a current Harkness Fellow with The Commonwealth Fund based at The University of Michigan for 2017/18.

She is an Associate Professor and Deputy Director of the Health Economics Group, Centre for Health Policy. She leads a program of research in child health and has specialist expertise in economic evaluation and modelling, child health policy, vulnerability/equity and use of health services and economic evaluation alongside clinical trials. She also leads the Health Technology Group within the Centre who perform evaluations for the Medical Services Advisory Committee (MSAC) to guide Medicare investment decisions. She actively supervises Masters of Public Health, clinical advanced trainee research projects and PhD students. A/Prof Dalziel has active collaborations with the Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI), the Royal Children's Hospital, The Women's Hospital and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. She was a previous recipient of a Melbourne University McKenzie Fellowship which has been established to attract outstanding recent doctoral graduates to the University in areas of research priority for the university and its faculties, and in particular to recruit new researchers who have the potential to build and lead cross-disciplinary collaborative research activities inside and across faculties. It was this fellowship that enabled a specialisation in pediatric economic evaluation which places her as an international leader. She has active research collaborations with The University of Michigan and Oxford University. Her previous appointments include with the Health Economics and Social Policy Group at the University of South Australia, Centre for Health Economics, Monash University, and Peninsula Technology Assessment Group at the University of Exeter in the UK. Her formal qualifications include a B. Health Science (hons), a Master of Health Economics and a PhD in Health Economics (awarded February 2011). She has authored over 70 peer reviewed publications in international journals, including the top ranking journals New England Journal of Medicine, Health Economics, PharmacoEconomics, Medical Decision Making, and Health Technology Assessment. She has contributed to a book on Economic evaluation in Child Health; published by Oxford University Press.
