Rosemary McKenzie


Rosemary McKenzie (PhD; MPH; PGrad Dip Health Promotion; BA) is Director of Teaching and Learning in the Melbourne School of Population and Global health and Deputy director of the Centre for Health Policy. Rosemary oversees the quality assurance and development of graduate higher education programs and contributions to undergraduate teaching across the School.

As a public health academic, she has extensive experience in health service planning, evaluation and research, with a focus on primary care, health promotion and telehealth. She coordinates and teaches the core subject Foundations of Public Health in the Master of Public Health program. She has worked at the Centre for Health Policy for over a decade and has been project leader for national and state evaluations. Major projects she has led include evaluation of national after hours primary care reforms, evaluation of the National Dementia Support Program; Evaluation and Support for the Well for Life Initiative, a health promotion program for frail older people in public sector aged care settings; and Support and Evaluation of the Older Persons Health Promotion Funding Program. Most recently she has led a rolling cycle of review of clinical and communication quality of the primary care telephone help lines operated by Healthdirect Australia. She is member of the Victorian Health Complaints Commissioner's Advisory Council and a member of Standards Australia Committee on the Development of a Standard for Australian Health Contact Centres.
