Dr Rebecca Bergin is a Research Fellow in the Cancer Epidemiology Division at Cancer Council Victoria and Honorary Researcher in the Department of General Practice and Centre for Cancer Research located in the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre at the University of Melbourne. Rebecca is a health services researcher in oncology and conducts mixed methods research with a particular interest in inequities in cancer outcomes, pathways to diagnosis and treatment, and health policy.

She is currently managing a study as part of a NHMRC Partnership Grant between Cancer Council Victoria, Victorian Department of Health and Human Services, the University of Melbourne and Deakin University. The project collects survey data from patients with colorectal, lung and ovarian cancer, and their GP, to explore pathways and timeliness of cancer diagnosis and treatment. She is also involved in the International Cancer Benchmarking Partnership Module 4 program, which compares cancer pathways between high income countries with similar health system contexts. Rebecca received a scholarship from the Victorian Department of Health for her PhD in the Centre for Behavioural Research for Cancer (Cancer Council Victoria) and Department of General Practice (University of Melbourne), completed in 2018, titled: Reducing outcome disparities for rural Victorians with colorectal cancer: understanding pathways to treatment and informing policy.
