Michael Pan is a Research Fellow in the Systems Biology Laboratory at the University of Melbourne. He completed his Bachelor of Biomedicine with a Diploma in Mathematical Sciences in 2012 at the University of Melbourne, where he also obtained a Masters of Engineering (Biomedical) in 2014.

Following this he studied a PhD in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Melbourne, where he explored how models in systems biology can be reused and integrated into larger models, with a focus on cardiac cell modelling in particular. Michael's current research interests include the development of thermodynamically consistent models of biochemistry, the application of model selection to enzyme kinetics and the construction of mechanistic whole cell models.
