Jeremy Eaton (he/him) is an artist, writer, curator and Managing Editor of pre-eminent art journal Art + Australia, published by the Victorian College of the Arts, University of Melbourne.

Eaton's research is concerned with image-making, queer history, temporality, Australian art history and contemporary queer art. Eaton has exhibited his artistic work and curated exhibitions for galleries, museums and festivals across the country. He has contributed book chapters, catalogue essays, articles and reviews to numerous Australian publications, galleries and museums.

In 2017 Eaton completed an MFA at the Victorian College of the Arts titled Time after time: an exploration of lineages of social space and materiality', a queer practice-led project, which speculated on material lineages of design and art by queer artists active during the twentieth century. His current PhD project An Indexical Otherwise: A Queer Reading of James Gleeson', looks to the historical and indexical traces of sexuality that run through and surround the work and life of Australian surrealist artist James Gleeson.

Eaton has presented solo projects at LON Gallery (On Frank', 2024), the International Festival of Photography (Beach Boys', 2022), Bundoora Homestead (Through the hand to the mouth', 2021), BUS Projects (some thoughts on cinema, dancing men', 2019) and KINGS Artist-Run (What happens between the rain and the ground', 2015). Over the last ten years he has participated in over thirty group and collaborative exhibitions including at La Trobe Art Institute and Incinerator Gallery. He has curated exhibitions at Charles Nodrum Gallery (James Gleeson: The Cosmic Erotic', 2024), CAVES Gallery (A Physical Reader', 2022) and co-curated projects at Sutton Projects (RITA 4: Dcor Drive', co-curated with Andrew Atchison, 2023), Footscray Community Arts Centre (Tender gestures, loud voices', co-curated with Mad Spencer-Castle, 2021) and the Hobiennale, Hobart (A message in the collar', co-curated with Katie Ryan, 2019).

Since 2017 Eaton has edited and co-edited seven journal issues for Currents Journal and Art + Australia, and contributed writing to Vault Magazine, Runway Magazine, the Museum of Contemporary Art, NAP Contemporary, Art + Australia, Charles Nodrum Gallery, The Ian Potter Museum of Art, Gertrude Contemporary, MeMo Review and un Magazine. Eaton has held roles as the editorial coordinator of the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Art, Gallery Coordinator of Kings Artist-Run, Co-editor (with Kelly Fliedner) of Currents Journal and has held Secretary, Chair and Deputy Chair roles on the board of un Projects.
