Dr Wei tong is a post-doctorate fellow at the National Vision Research Institute. Dr Tong is involved with the Bionic Eye research with retainer processes.
She is using three different approaches, electrical stimulation, optical stimulation and surface acoustic wave stimulation to stimulate neurons. Dr Tong focuses on manipulating and recording neural activity as well as promoting neuron growth. However, she has professional interests such as neural stimulation and recording, neural prosthetics development and Biomaterials. Dr Tong has also collaborated with the University of Melbourne, Swinburne University as well as RMIT University.
