Claire Thibout joined the Melbourne Institute as a Research fellow in 2015, and she is part of the Economic and Social Disadvantage research program. Claire graduated from the French Ecole Normale Superieure de Cachan (ENS) and she holds a Master's degree in Economics from Paris School of Economics.

Claire completed her PhD studies in Economics in October 2014, at the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and the French National Institute for Demographic Studies. She specialized in the fields of household economics, economics of education and micro-econometrics. Her dissertation research focused on theoretical and empirical analyses of young people’s educational choices and family decision-making.
