Jackie Dickenson

 

Before completing her PhD in History at the University of Melbourne, Jackie worked in the advertising industry in Britain and Australia, and taught creative advertising at RMIT University (1997-2006). Her PhD thesis was published as Renegades and Rats: Betrayal and the Remaking of Radical Organisations in Britain and Australia (MUP 2006).

Jackie is also the author of Trust Me: Australians and their Politicians (New South Publishing 2013) and Australian Women in Advertising in the Twentieth Century (Palgrave Macmillan 2016), and (with Robert Crawford of RMIT University) Behind Glass Doors: The World of Australian Advertising Agencies 1959-1989 (UWAP 2016). Jackie is currently working on the role of the left in the making of the Australian consumer.
