Sabine Braat is a Research Fellow in Biostatistics at the Centre for Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Melbourne School of Population and Global Health, University of Melbourne. She completed her postgraduate training in Applied Mathematics at the University of Antwerp (Master; Belgium) and in Biostatistics at the University of Hasselt (MSc; Belgium).

Since graduating, she has worked as a clinical trial statistician for several international pharmaceutical companies in the Netherlands for almost 17 years. In this role, she gained extensive experience in the many statistical aspects related to pharmaceutical clinical trials and drug submissions to regulatory authorities. In 2015, she emigrated to Australia and started working at the University of Melbourne. At the Melbourne Clinical and Translational Science (MCATS) platform, she provides expert statistical advice to the design, analysis and publication of clinical and translational research . At the Doherty Institute, she provide statistical support into research conducted in Bangladesh, Malawi, Viet Nam, and Indigenous communities. Sabine Braat is an Accredited Statistician (AStat) by the Statistical Society of Australia (SSA), vice-chair of the executive committee of the Australian Clinical Trials Alliance - Statistics in Trials Interest Group (ACTA-STInG), and co-chair of the SSA Biostatistics Section.
