Positions: Dr Furic obtained his PhD in biochemistry from University of Montreal for his work on RNA biology. In 2007, he took a postdoctoral position in biochemistry and tumour biology at the Goodman Cancer Centre, McGill University.

In 2011, he was appointed Research Fellow in the Prostate Cancer Research Group at Monash University and became Senior Research Fellow in 2016. Since 2016, Dr Furic is a Senior Research Fellow in the Prostate Cancer Translational Research laboratory at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.Funding: Since 2007, Dr Furic has received multiple awards and fellowships from competitive schemes at both national and international levels. These awards include the US Department of Defense Postdoctoral Prostate Cancer training award (2009-2011), the Canadian Cancer Society Postdoctoral Fellowship (2008-2010) and the Quebec Health Fund postdoctoral fellowship (2007-2009). More recently, he was awarded the ARC DECRA (2012-2015), a Young Investigator Award from the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (2011-2016), a Victorian Cancer Agency (VCA) Early Career Seed grant (2011-2012) and VCA Mid-Career Fellowship (2017-2020). Dr Furic is also a co-investigator on large collaborative grants funded by VCA, PCF and Cancer Australia. Research projects: 1- Targeting MYC driven prostate cancer by combining targeted radionuclide therapy with ribosome biogenesis inhibition as a new therapy in CRPC and neuroendocrine PC2- Novel combination therapies targeting the ribosome to treat prostate cancer3- Estrogen-mediated regulation of gene expression via transcriptional and translational control
