I am a Research Fellow in Geotechnical Engineering in the Department of Infrastructure Engineering at the University of Melbourne. I had more than 15 years of academic experience and approximately 5 years industry experience before I received my PhD in Geotechnical Engineering in 2018 from Swinburne University of Technology (Australia).

I received my Master in Geotechnical Engineering (2001) from the University of Baghdad (Iraq).

My research interest is constitutive behaviour of unsaturated soils, explanation of their behaviour in terms of void ratio, stress and moisture content, swell -shrink cycles and Soil Water Characteristic Curve. I am involved in industry projects on Geotechnical Laboratory and Field testing and have an interest in Soil Internal Erosion.
