Rene Richter

Dr Rene Richter has been appointed as Lecturer at The University of Melbourne, School of Agriculture and Food (Oct 2018), aiming to understand how flowering time controls greening an drought response in plants. He uses molecular and biochemical tools as well as genetics to answer his questions.

He gained expertise as researcher in the field of developmental genetics, molecular biology and biochemistry. He received his MSc in 'Molecular Biology and Biochemistry' from the Eberhard-Karls-University Tübingen (2007), Germany, and PhD in 'Developmental Genetics' from the Technical University Munich (2013), Germany. Rene gained extensive experience on flowering time control as PostDoc at the Max-Planck-Institute for Plant Breeding Cologne (2013-2018), Germany. Rene is author of research papers published in high-ranked international journals and received a prestigious research award in Germany. He likes to supervise and mentor students on research projects. If YOU feel that the topic might be of interest, please send him a brief message or give him a call. If you consider to apply for a graduate scholarship, do not hesitate to contact Rene.
