Ken Chin

 

Ken is a pharmacist and clinical epidemiologist with a particular interest in heart failure, diabetes, pharmacoepidemiology and health economics. Ken's specific expertise lie in generation of evidence and value for products using data science, clinical trials, real-world evidence studies and health economics.

Backed with a 16-year clinical and research experience in cardiovascular, renal and metabolic diseases (CVRM), he has led and managed projects that require working closely with cross-functional teams from industry, academia, key opinion leaders (KOL), healthcare professionals (HCPs), ethics and governance institutions, and health technology assessment (HTA) bodies. Ken has a strong track record, with publications in highly ranked journals including The Lancet and European Journal of Heart Failure. In addition, he has disseminated his work at prestigious national and international conferences including the American Heart Association Scientific Sessions. Ken is actively involved in collaborations with industry, especially with regards to development of economic models for PBAC submissions and clinical trials. At Melbourne Medical School, Ken leads the clinical trials training program.
