Dr Anne-Marie Laslett graduated as dentist and has been awarded masters and doctoral degrees in public health. She has over 20 years of research experience in the alcohol and other drug field and further public health experience in maternal and child health, injury prevention and oral epidemiology.

Anne-Marie is an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne in the School of Global and Public Health. Currently based full-time as a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Alcohol Policy Research at La Trobe University in the School of Psychology and Public Health, she has led multi-method research teams, supervised PhD students and has an international profile in research on alcohol’s harm to others (AHTO. She collaborates widely with many countries and the World Health Organization (WHO). She is President of the Kettil Bruun Society for Social and Epidemiological Research on Alcohol and chairs the International Group for the Study of Alcohol's Harm to Others. Her research focuses on the harms to children from others’ drinking that occur in the general population and the child protection system and how families are affected by others’ drinking. Anne-Marie analyses national and World Health Organization and United Nations data archives to study a range of national and international problems involving alcohol. She has been awarded a National Health and Medical Research Council Early Career Fellowship (2015-2019) and an Australian Research Council Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (2019-2022).
